Sesc RJ promotes the 4th World Education Congress: “The awakening of Consciences.”

The 4th World Education Congress Sesc RJ – “The Awakening of Consciences” will take place from the 25th to the 27th of October, from 9am to 8pm, in face-to-face and virtual formats invites a reflection on the pillars that underlie our educational actions: the anti-ableism, anti-racism and scientific literacy, which deeply dialogue with the complexity of the contemporary world.

In addition to being urgent and necessary, these pillars reaffirm the relevance of purposeful actions that aims at overcoming prejudice, persecution in all areas and denialism. We call for critical thinking, commitment and the exercise of citizenship through conscious participation. We intend to value different worldviews and historical-social subjects as producers of knowledge and futures, thus highlighting the importance of diversity for the common good. We will carry out pre-Congress activities considering an agenda of visits to the following territories: remaining Quilombola communities, indigenous territories, and African heritage circuits.

Therefore, the Congress represents a call for collective action. Only through continuous engagement, constant learning and a commitment to change we can truly build a world where all people are valued and respected, regardless of their ethnic-racial origin. It is a challenge that demands reflection, courage and persistence, but it is also an essential journey towards a fairer and more equal future for all.
